Spedition Bauer from Kirchdorf an der Krems strikes its sails

Declining turnover and continuously rising diesel prices are driving the Upper Austrian forwarding company Spedition Bauer GmbH into insolvency

On 3 April 2012 bankruptcy proceedings about the assets and liabilities of the Spedition Bauer GmbH (4560 Kirchdorf an der Krems, Hauptplatz 3) was opened at the regional court Landesgericht Steyr. The insolvency of the enterprise active in the segments forwarding, freight exchange and logistics, affects 47 creditors according to the association for the protection of creditors KSV 1870. Liabilities amount to about EUR 2 million. Operation was shut down and is not to be continued.

Established in 2008, Spedition Bauer GmbH operated 20 vehicles to carry out transportations to the main destination England on behalf of customers from Austria and Germany. The management says the insolvency is due to declines in turnover as well as continuously rising diesel prices. The higher fuel prices could barely be passed to the end-customers. In addition the company lost its major client.
