Major investment of DB Schenker Logistics in the port of Nuremberg

Joined logistics competence in the port of Nuremberg: DB Schenker Logistics to construct a highly modern logistics centre for EUR 28 million.

From the start of 2014 about 380 employees shall offer comprehensive one-stop-shop logistics services at the 54,000 m² area at Bremer Straße. Thus Schenker Deutschland AG joins the logistics competences of its Nuremberg branches for national land transport, international land transport as well as air/sea freight at one site.

The new logistics facility is located at the motorway A73 and will be equipped according to the latest ecological aspects. Once the construction work is finished, more than 10,000m² transhipment area, 134 loading gates and about 5,400 m² office space will be available at the new location.

“We want to grow on the long term in this region“, Dr. Hansjörg Rodi, CEO Schenker Deutschland AG, said at the ceremony. “Joining the previously separated locations, we will be able to offer our customers even faster access to worldwide growth markets – whether by land transport, water or air.“
