Ahlers Logistics opens third warehouse in Russia
Enhanced presence of Ahlers Logistics in St. Petersburg Opening another terminal for storing and manipulating imported goods in St. Petersburg, the Ahlers Group enhances its presence in the Russian Federation. The new building provides 37,500 pallet slots on a 17,500 square metres covered area. The facility was built with an investment of about EUR 15 million. Premiere customer is the SEB Group, which is established in the household appliances sector. Ahlers Group has been operating an own company in Russia since 1993. For a long time the group had been focussing on forwarding and customs services, but has expanded its activities with the location in St. Petersburg to contract logistics in the year 2005. The group provides now three logistics facilities with a total storage area of 75,000 square metres. The whole staff of Ahlers Logistics in Russia counts 200 persons.
