Air Partner to install regular freighter service from Frankfurt to Sochi
Air Partner to operate Sochi Express with weekly flights on a Boeing 747-400F from Frankfurt to South Russia from 18 November
Air Partner, one of the world’s biggest providers of professional solutions for charter flights for passenger and cargo transport as well as private jets, will establish a weekly freighter connection from Frankfurt to Sochi on the occasion of the XXII Olympic Winter Games (7 – 23 February 2014), taking place in Sochi, Russia. In the period between November 18, 2013 and February 7, 2014 every Monday a Boeing 747-400F will take off in Frankfurt/Main and directly call Sochi at Russia’S Black Sea coast.
“The new freight charter service of our Sochi-Express is currently the only nonstop flight planned between Germany and Sochi. Air Partner thus offers an option to all forwarders, who need to organise a quick and secure transport of material, devices and special goods for organisers, and sponsors of the Winter Olympics; be it full or less than full charter“, says Mike Hill, Regional Freight Manager of the Air Partner group, with headquarters in Bergisch Gladbach.
“Due to its geographic location Sochi has bad transport connections. Hence there is limited capacity for cargo. Many air cargo transports are currently calling Moscow, from where they are trucked to Sochi. A burdensome and long way to go, which can be bypassed with our direct flight. We also accept small consignments, meaning pallets can be booked“, says Hill. Air Partner expects great demand, particularly during the preparation period of the Olympics. As to the freight rates, Hill comments: “They can easily stand the comparison with the time-consuming transport via Moscow “.
All freight goods are received at the freight terminal Cargo City Süd at the Airport Frankfurt/Main. In addition Air Partner offers door-to-door, door-to-airport and in Sochi also an airport-to-door service.
