Ennshafen confirms position as trimodal logistics hub

Continuous investment activities at Ennshafen port

Managers of the Ennshafen port are still confident. On the port day on 31 July the management confirmed their strategy that is aimed at establishing the port as a trimodal logistics hub for road, rail and waterway transport. A specifically designed investment programme representing a total value of EUR 9 million includes two new block train tracks for the interchange station and the construction of a new quay wall at the basin Hafenbecken West.

Ennshafen handled more than 1 million tons of goods on the water in 2008. Total goods throughput on the road, rail and the waterway beat the mark of 5 million tons. Including the business park Wirtschaftspark Enns-Ennsdorf, around 1,600 persons are working (in all resident companies) at the 3.5 million sq. m.-location.
