Felbermayr now operates a heavy cargo port at the Rhine

Felbermayr group starts new trimodal hub for heavy and bulk goods in Krefeld in Northrhine-Westphalia

The heavy and bulk goods port Krefeld in Northrhine-Westphalia has a new operator. The Felbermayr corporate group from Wels offers via Felbermayr Deutschland GmbH with immediate effect its services in the segments of transport, throughput and storage of heavy and bulk goods in north-western Germany. “Our customers will benefit thereof in the form of all-in-one solutions and the biggest possible flexibility, based on a trimodal hub for rail, road and waterway“, the enterprise announces.

The heavy and bulk goods port Krefeld offers 124 metres of quay, 15,000 m² storage space and 5,000 m² space for manipulation. The permanent throughput capacity is 500 tons. There are options available for pre and on-carriage on the road, railway and waterway.

The Krefeld site complements the Felbermayr group’s heavy cargo port in Linz. The location in Upper Austria’s capital, which was acquired in 1996 by today’s voestalpine Stahl, provides 275,000 m² space which allows for manipulating and handling components weighing up to 600 tons.
