Gebrüder Weiss starts new construction in Senec (Slovakia)

Logistics terminal in Senec will start operation in February 2010

Gebrüder Weiss has started construction of a new logistics terminal in the region Central- and Eastern Europe. The ground-breaking ceremony took place in Slovakia on July 1st. The building company Zipp will construct a transshipment centre offering 3.800 sq. m. of roofed space, a 4.600 sq. m. logistics warehouse and about 1.300 sq. m. of office space. Start of operations for the facility is planned for the end of February 2010.

"With this new facility we will merge our activities in the metropolitan area around Bratislava at a central location. This will help us to further optimise operational processes and we will be able to offer more efficient solutions transport- and logistics solutions to our customers", area and regional manager Jürgen Bauer says with regard to the project. Capital expenditure for the logistics terminal Senec amounts to about 8,5 million Euros.

Gebrüder Weiss Slovakia was founded in 1993 and presently employs more than 200 people in six branches (Bratislava, Senec, Žiar nad Hronom, Košice, Poprad and Žilina). Besides area-wide 24-hour distribution and logistics the company has organised international consolidated cargo- and full load transports to and from Slovakia since 1995.
