In a festivity on Friday, 29 April 2011, bremenports opens the new Bremerhaven Kaiserschleuse-lock. The 305 metres port building will be inaugurated in the presence of high ranking speakers of the Hanseatic city, representatives of the working team who built the lock as well as numerous guests. Moreover there will be a three-days program around the opening of the Kaiserschleuse and at the Neuer Hafen, which is why the Weser river will partly be blocked. In the form of a sports boat parade on the Weser 359 owners and skippers want to put up a new record with their boats. 319 are necessary to beat the old record and to ensure Bremerhaven is registered in the Guiness Book of Records. “It sould go smoothly. Authorities in Bremen and Bremerhaven have previously agreed upon the big event“, managing director of the port enterprise Holger Banik says confidently. The Kaiserschleuse lock offers space for about 7000 guests – if more people will come, the access to the new port facility will have to be blocked as well. Quelle: LogEastics |
