Lübeck Port Authority streamlines organisational structure

New product-oriented organisation with Lübeck Port Authority

By streamlining its organisational structure Lübecker Hafengesellschaft mbH (LHG) responds to the growing requirements of the customers and to the increasing competition among ports. With effect from 1 October a product-oriented organisation is to replace the previously terminal-oriented handling procedure.

The measure is to be accompanied by the creation of a central sales unit as a contact and negotiator for customers. Thereby we respond to the higher requirements regarding to competitiveness and to the current crisis situation“, LHG Managing Director Heinrich Beckmann announced.

As of 1 October the terminals Schlutup and Nordlandkai, which are mainly handling paper products, will be jointly organised in the “forestry products group". The previous terminal Schlutup Manager, Karsten Brüning, will be the new Manager of this new organisational unit. The terminals Skandinavienkai and Seelandkai/Konstinkai, where mainly rolling cargo is put through, form the new unit "RoRo and LoLo", which will be under the control of Nico Wollboldt.

Ortwin Harms, so far Manager of the Nordlandkai terminal, will be in charge of marketing and distribution. He will also be responsible for distributional activities that have so far been handled on part of the terminal. Customer service in operating business resides still with the terminals and the new Managers of the “forestry product group“ and “RoRo and LoLo", respectively. Burkhard Jäckel, previously Manager of the Skandinavienkai terminal, is to take over the revision unit.
