New trucks for Lehnkering Road Logistics and Services

Daimler AG and Lehnkering GmbH sign sign a general agreement for the delivery of 220 Mercedes-Benz trucks

 

The Road Logistics and Services division of Lehnkering GmbH (Duisburg) expands and modernises its fleet for the handling of chemical and steel transportations. Last week the enterprise signed a general agreement with Daimler AG for the delivery of 220 Mercedes-Benz trucks. The agreement is for four years, ending in 2013. The first Actros truck unit is to be delivered this October.

Mercedes-Benz builds the 220 Actros truck units at the plant in Wörth and delivers them to various Lehnkering sites in Germany, the Netherlands and Poland. Approximately two-thirds of the trucks will be used for chemical transport and around a third of the trucks for steel. All vehicles are equipped with the TopSafety package complete with every available Mercedes-Benz safety feature including the latest version of the Active Brake Assist system. With BlueTec engines, the trucks meet both the Euro5 emission guidelines and the voluntary EEV (Enhanced Environmental Friendly Vehicle) standards.
