Panalpina launches three new LCL services from Asia to Rotterdam

Panalpina’s new direct Less than Container Load services offer weekly connection from Shanghai, Hong Kong and Singapore to Rotterdam:

The Panalpina group offers its sea freight customers new options on the trade lanes connecting Asia and Europe. The enterprise launched three direct Less than Container Load (LCL) services through its in-house carrier Pantainer Express Line, with guaranteed weekly services between Shanghai and Rotterdam, Hong Kong and Rotterdam, as well as Singapore and Rotterdam.

The new services have been launched to meet increased customer demands and strengthen Panalpina’s position as one of the leading LCL service providers on the Asia to Europe trade. They also complement Panalpina’s existing services into Antwerp (Belgium), one of the group’s strategic LCL hub locations.

Panalpina’s customers can expect their LCL shipments to arrive in Rotterdam from Shanghai, Hong Kong or Singapore within 26, 22 and 18 days, respectively. This implies also time savings of two to four days compared to previous routings via the LCL hub in Antwerp. At the same time CO2 emissions are reduced by 5.3 per cent between Shanghai and Rotterdam, by 5.6 per cent between Hong Kong and Rotterdam, and by 6.5 per cent between Singapore and Rotterdam.

The new LCL services are part of Panalpina’s long term strategy to grow business on key Asia trade lanes, especially on the Far East Westbound, Transpacific Eastbound, Intra Asia, Asia to Latin America and Asia to Middle East trade. Carsten Meyer, Global Head of Ocean Freight LCL at Panalpina, says: “We are constantly expanding our own operated global LCL network through our in-house carrier Pantainer Express Line. The newly launched direct services to Rotterdam are only a few of many more to come.”
