Rail shuttle Koper – Vienna – Poland is to start on 26 October

Slovenian seaport of Koper gains new rail connections for container transport to the European hinterland:

These days new block train services to central and south-eastern Europe will start from the Slovenian seaport of Koper. On 26 October the container-shuttle from Koper to Vienna and Dabrowa Gornicza, Poland (v.v.) had its maiden journey. Adria Transport and Baltic Rail will jointly operate the service on a weekly basis, leaving Koper on Wednesdays and arriving at the Polish terminal on Fridays. The trains will leave Dabrowa Gornicza on Fridays and return to the Slovenian seaport late Sunday afternoon. This new shuttle is an extension to Adria Transport’s CCG Graz-Koper service.

The container rail service from Koper via Ljubljana to Sofia and return has already been started. Adria Kombi International is the operator on this route. Feeder connections are available via Sofia to Greece, Turkey, Russia, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.
