RCA attends to new business with TransportBeton

Additional business for RCA thanks to new TransportBeton branch line in Vienna

A new branch line including a facility to unload gravel, at the concrete factory in Vienna’s district Erdberg enables the TransportBeton-company to enhance the collaboration with Rail Cargo Austria (RCA). Built with a total investment of EUR 2 million, the facility was inaugurated only recently. The handling rate of the unloading station is 900 tons per hour. Last Tuesday the first train was discharged.

The Asamer-company acting under the name TransportBeton will dispatch around 220,000 tons of gravel on the branch line next year. The departure point for the rail transportations is the gravel plant in Schönkirchen (Lower Austria). Residents and the environment benefit from rail logistics, which saves about 9,000 truck trips per year. The future plan of the Management of TransportBeton is to expand the branch line to 400,000 tons of gravel per year and to launch cement transportations on the rail.
