RCA closes acquisiton of MÁV Cargo

 
Merger of Rail Cargo Austria and MÀV Cargo now concluded

Yesterday the merger of Rail Cargo Austria and MÀV Cargo was announced at an international press conference in Budapest. Based on the collaboration of the two companies the leading cargo railway in south-eastern Europe will emerge. RCA invests around EUR 400 million into the acquisition of MÀV Cargo.

RCA and MÀV Cargo employ 11,000 persons and show an annual turnover of around EUR 2.75 billion. Using a wagon fleet that consists of 33,000 units, the enterprise transports more than 140 million tons of goods per year. The transport capacity amounts to more than 28 billion tonne-kilometres.
