Sensational air freight development at Graz Airport
|
Air freight throughput at Graz Airport soared up by more than one third last year compared to 2009
Graz Airport experienced an air freight boom in 2010 in the truest sense of the word. With a total volume of 11,062 tons last year’s figure was exceeded by 2,832 tons or 34.4 per cent. What is remarkable about this, is: Almost 80 per cent of the consignments were destined for exportation. “Freight has already shown an outstanding development in the first nine months of the last year. What was particularly impressive, was the growth in August, which has more than doubled on August 2009“, managing director Mag. Gerhard Widmann reviews the year. According to Widmann Graz Airport will face big challenges in 2011. “Economic crisis and the ash cloud have shown us how vulnerable we are“, he says. “But the development in the last months of 2010 and the good bookings for the summer flight schedule let us look to the future quite optimistically.” Quelle: LogEastics |
