Spedition Baltic Shipping plan to launch major project in Klaipeda

Logistics centre in Klaipeda is aimed to boost the development of the Baltic Shipping forwarding company

The UAB Baltic Shipping forwarding company is to start a new major project shortly. Managing Director Arunas Jankauskasen announced the building of a logistics terminal with 16,000 pallet slots in Klaipeda (Lithuania) in an interview with the LogEASTics magazine. The project will shortly be implemented. The facility shall start operating at the beginning of 2012. The investment totals to EUR 20 million.

UAB Baltic Shipping headquartered in Klaipeda (Lithuania) is a private company and offers a wide range of forwarding services. Their core business is the management of transport logistics for clients from the metal and steel industry, including additional services as the processing of materials. Their 30 employees at the locations in Klaipeda, Minsk, Gomel, Kaliningrad and Jaroslawl have handled around 2 million tons in 2009. According to Managing Director Jankauskasen they generate an annual turnover of EUR 40 million with these activities.
