Yusen Logistics will start on October 1 in Germany and Austria

Merger of NYK Logistics and Yusen Air & Sea Service into Yusen Logistics to become effective with October in Germany and Austria:

A new provider of logistic full range solutions is about to enter the scene in Germany and Austria. Yusen Logistics will be formed from 1 October 2011 through the merger of NYK Logistics and Yusen Air & Sea Service.

The merger of NYK Logistics and Yusen Air & Sea Service in Germany is the last stage of integration in Europe, which had been started in Poland and Hungary at the start of the year 2011. As of April 1 integration was implemented in Russia, Spain, Benelux, the Czech Republic, Italy and the UK, as well as in France the next month.

The new enterprise joins global presence and expertise of both companies in air freight, ocean freight, overland transport and contract logistics. Yusen Logistics is by its own definition offering a "one-stop service" providing full transparency throughout the complete supply chain.

Yusen Logistics with its headquarters in Tokyo is a global supplier of contract logistics as well as air and ocean freight services. In Europe, the enterprise has currently about 4,000 employees and operates 98 facilities with more than 830,000 m² warehousing space, ranging from Spain to Russia. Yusen Logistics (Deutschland) GmbH based in Düsseldorf has 520 employees and 110,000 m² warehouse space at nine logistic junctions. The station in Vienna reports to the German organisation.
