BLG Logistics reckons with hard times

 
BLG Logistics Group in Bremen registered good financial year in 2008

In spite of the current economic crisis the management of the Bremen based BLG Logistics Group is moderately looking forward to the year 2009. Detthold Aden, Chief Executive Officer, is expecting a hard time during the first three months particularly in the automotive logistics sector. According to his statement the throughput of vehicles has been declining since August. From January to March the volume could show a 25%-decline compared to 2008. However afterwards the automotive market shall recover step-by-step, the head of BLG Logistics Group says confidently.

As for container transport Mr. Aden expects a 3 to 4 percent growth in 2009. According to him the growth area will be the common terminals with the leading container shipping lines in Bremerhaven.

After a growth period of 10 years, BLG Logistics Group achieved again a record turnover in the financial year 2008. “We will achieve our targeted turnover of EUR 970 million and an EBIT of EUR 84 million”, Mr. Aden announced in a press release. According to his outlook the earnings shall amount to around EUR 60 million in 2009.
