CTL Logistics expands to intermodal transport segment

Expanded service portfolio with Polish private rail company CTL Logistics
 

A new provider becomes active in the Polish market for intermodal rail transport. The private rail company CTL Logistics has announced ist expansion into the container operating business on 28 January. They intend to establish a network for the international transportation of container consignments, as the Management said in an audio conference.

CTL Logistics will enter into intermodal transport in three steps. First, regular transportations on the routes from Hamburg and Bremerhaven to Warsaw, Sosnowiec and Katy Wroclawskie as well as to their own terminal in Piotrkow Trybunalski will be set up. Afterwards connections to/from Gdansk/Gdynia and to the ARA ports will follow. In stage three of the intermodal service conception establishing connecting services to terminals at the eastern border of Poland is planned.

The CTL Logistics Management states the dynamic development of the intermodal rail transport market as the reason for their entry into the segment. Until 2015 an annual growth rate of 6 per cent on average is expected.
