Decrease of Gefco’s turnover and profit

Gefco feels impact of global economic crisis
 

The global economic downturn of the automotive industry has left its marks by the Gefco Group. Turnover as well as the operative result showed massive declines in the first six months of 2009. Turnover fell from EUR 1.9 billion between January and June 2008 to EUR 1.39 billion. The operative result before non-recurring items showed a slump from EUR 79 million to EUR 7 million. At this item the “Force 10“-cost reduction programme secured profitability of the enterprise.

Gefco, headquartered in Paris, is affiliated to the PSA Peugeot Citroen Group. The core business activities of the enterprise, which has also an organisation in Austria, are logistics services for international industrial clients.
