DHL Global Forwarding wins new large-scale contract

 
Sandvik Mining & Construction places EUR 300 million-contract at DHL

DHL Global Forwarding, the air- and seafreight specialist within the Deutsche Post World Net Group, announced the acquisition of a new large scale contract from the international industry. On December 10th, Sandvik Mining & Construction and the provider of forwarding services signed a global contract with a value of EUR 300 million. They agreed upon cooperating for five years. The contract will become effective as per January 1st, 2009 and stipulates the global procurement of comprehensive logistic services on part of DHL Global Forwarding in order to promote the growth plans of the client. The 130 locations of Sandvik Mining & Construction have been cooperating with DHL Global Forwarding for 25 years. “For our further growth we need a strong partner that is globally represented and experienced in all logistic domains“, Anders Olsson, Vice President of Sandvik SMC Logistics, stated as a motive for concluding the contract with DHL Global Forwarding. Sandvik Mining & Construction is the globally leading provider of products and solutions for mining and deep mining works, and for the handling of bulk goods.
