Gefco opens automotive hub in Kelheim

New automotive logistics site of Gefco Group in Germany

Gefco Group reinfroces its commitment to automotive logistics in Germany. In the lower Bavarian city of Kelheim a new location was opened at the beginning of the week. It is to be integrated into the global network of the enterprise as station number 16 in Germany. 

Operating the automotive and industrial logistics business, Gefco Group wants to handle some 14,000 French vehicles in Kelheim in 2010. Further rise in volumes is expected for 2011.

The location in Kelheim covers a more than 500,000 sq.m.-area which provides space for 26,000 vehicles. In addition to being connected to the road and to rail, the location is also accessible for river vessels using the Main Danube Canal. The facility is operated by 170 employees of an external service provider.
