Hamburg Süd replaces Costa Container Lines

Costa Container Lines becomes Hamburg Süd by 2009

As per January 1, 2009, the shipping group Hamburg Süd abandons its brand name Costa Container Lines (CCL) and replaces it by the well-known name „Hamburg Süd“, in order to have a global corporate identity.

As per December 1, 2007, Hamburg Süd had taken over the liner activities of the Italian traditional shipping company. CCL is considered as a specialist on the routes between the western Mediterranean Sea and the South American East and northern coast, as well as for the routes between South America and the Caribbean/Mexico. In addition to these activities the group operates a comprehensive network of feeder-services in the eastern Mediterranean Sea and the Caribbean.
