Hapag-Lloyd starts transatlantic express service

New fast shuttle service of Hapag-Lloyd covers Antwerp-New York route in nine days

The German container shipping company Hapag-Lloyd expands its offer in the transatlantic traffic. From mid September the enterprise will offer a shuttle service between Antwerp and New York in its program. The new liner service will be operated under the name “Atlantic Express Shuttle“. It is also a completion to the Grand Alliance services PAX and ATX. Its introduction is meant as an answer to the increasing customer demand.

With three vessels of each 2,200 TEU capacity the Atlantic Express Service offers departures in a weekly rhythm. The first ship to start the journey on 13 September from Antwerp across the North Atlantic will be “Valerie Schulte“. The premiere journey in the opposite direction starting from New York is scheduled for 25 September. The transit time is nine days each.
