Innofreight starts service concept for narrow gauge

Innofreight’s WoodTainer XXL celebrates premiere at Zillertalbahn

As of now the rail logistics company Innofreight (Bruck/Mur) offers an environmentally friendly service option for operations on narrow gauge tracks as well. A stacking frame for container transportations on swivelling bolster wagons was developed. “In this way it is possible to carry out combined traffic between narrow and normal gauge and to shift traffic in Zillertal from road into rail, “ the Management announced in a press release. “There are no modifications on the wagon necessary”, it emphasises.

Also the Pinzgauer local railway is already interested in this innovation (the stacking frame). Using the Innofreight round wood pallet they will permit handling raw wood transportations on the narrow gauge railway in the future.
