SOC about to merge into RCA Group
| Spedition Schier, Otten & Co. to be integrated into RCA Group A serious change is foreshadowed at the Spedition Schier, Otten & Co. (SOC) forwarding company. By mid-2009 the Vienna based enterprise will be merged into the BEX Logistik-division of Rail Cargo Austria, with retrospective effect as per January 1st, 2009. Friedrich Macher, Managing Director at RCA, confirmed this answering a question of the Österreichische Verkehrszeitung (Austrian Transport Magazine). This step costs the enterprise its legal independence. The brand name SOC will be ceased as well. Schier, Otten & Co. is a traditional forwarding company based in Vienna. The enterprise was established in 1924 by Mr. Karl Schier and sold by Dr. Erich Mihokovic on January 1st, 2001, to the Speditions Holding of Rail Cargo Austria. Acting as an all-round player in forwarding services (national/international general cargo, part-/full loads, storage logistics, air and sea freight) SOC Group is operating a network with locations in Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia.
