DB Schenker Romtrans launches area-wide general cargo network

Acquisition of Romtrans brings many new businesses to DB Schenker

The freight forwarding company DB Schenker Romtrans does its job properly. “In autumn the first genuine area-wide general cargo network will be launched as a product innovation in the Romanian market. The system connects all 10 main selling sites in this country by daily overnight-shuttles or via the hub Brasov. This allows to deliver goods on the same day of the arrival at the terminal, and door-to-door delivery times between 24 and 36 hours “, announces Mihai Stefanut, Head of Groupage Department, in the company’s journal “Logistics World“.

The acquisition of Romtrans in November 2008 brought many new orders to DB Schenker. Dacia Renault charged the forwarding company with the management of freight transportations to Russia. On behalf of Volvo the company controls spare parts supply of the Bulgarian and Macedonian market from the hubs Vienna and Bucharest. “Our volumes grew also in countries like Serbia, Greece, the Republic of Moldova or Turkey. Moreover we signed a contract about distribution in Romania for a leading Austrian enterprise a few weeks ago“, Mihai Stefanut announces proudly.
