Hermes Warehousing Solutions wins new lifestyle customer

Tom Tailor lifestyle-company relies on HWS for e-commerce

The Hermes Warehousing Solutions GmbH (HWS) won Tom Tailor as a new customer. The Hamburg-based logistics service provider handles back-office processes for the three webshops of the fashion company for Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. The Fulfilment-parcel comprises the takeover of call centre services, the handling of payments and debts management. Moreover warehousing, distribution and returns management are taken over.

On behalf of Tom Tailor, HWS handles the whole assortment of men’s, women’s and children’s wear, shoes, accessories, bed linen, towels and perfumes. The logistics services are rendered at the HWS location Haldensleben (Saxony-Anhalt), one of Germany’s biggest delivery centres.

Tom Tailor is based in Hamburg and operates 6,150 stores in more than 35 countries and has been growing dynamically for years. With 660 employees the enterprise generated a turnover of EUR 284 million in 2008. Every year twelve collections for men, women, youngsters and children are issued.

Hermes Warehousing Solutions GmbH (HWS) based in Hamburg is a 100%-subsidiary of the Otto Group. It renders comprehensive services for distance selling and retail. The offer comprises setting up and maintenance of webshops, call centres, credit assessment, debts and returns management, as well as procurement, warehousing, order-picking and distribution. Given an assortment of 500,000 items, HWS moves around 230 million pieces per year. The goods are ranging from mobile phones to camcorders, textiles, furniture and washing machines.
