Jubilee of Airbus A380 with Emirates Airline

Emirates Airline expands Airbus A380-route network

The Airbus A380 celebrates a little jubilee at the Emirates Airline. One year ago, on 28 July 2008, the first airplane from the Airbus plant Hamburg-Finkenwerder was delivered to the Dubai-based airline. In the frame of a ceremony with numerous prominent participants from policy and economy, the world’s largest passenger aircraft was handed over to the His Highness Seine Hoheit Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman & CEO Emirates Airline and Group.

Today, exactly 12 months later, five Airbus A380 are operating in the colours of the international airline of the United Arab Emirates. The wide-body aircrafts fly in regular services from the hub in Dubai to Toronto, London, Bangkok, Sydney and Auckland. In December 2009 Seoul will be integrated into the schedule. Paris is to follow in February 2010.
