New general manager at Gefco Austria

Mag. (FH) Thomas Ziegler shall drive Gefco Austria’s activities in land transport and air/sea freight

 

A personell change took place at the top position of the Austrian subsidiary of the French logistics group Gefco. Mag. (FH) Thomas Ziegler is holding the function of the general manager since 10 January. The new „captain” has graduated from the University of Applied Science Steyr in International Logistics Management. He was lately active in the management of Schachinger Logistik Holding. His predecessor and founder of the Austrian company, Guillaume Chavanat, went back to Gefco’s headquarters in France after six years of activity in Austria.

Gefco Austria headed by Thomas Ziegler will expand its service portfolio for its customers in the automotive segment and also their load and general cargo network (especially in Eastern Europe). They will particularly concentrate on boosting their air and sea freight activities.

Gefo with its business segments logistics, Gefboxsystem, overseas, overland and vehicle distribution counts among the leading logistics providers in Europe. The enterprise generated a turnover at EUr 2.9 billion in the year 2009 and has around 10,000 employees at more than 400 locations around the globe.
