New sales structures with DB Intermodal

DB Intermodal sales organisation according to market segments

As of 1 October 2009 DB Intermodal has restructured its sales management. The activities will be more oriented to the market segments of “maritime transport” and “continental transport“ now. Thereby, and by introducing a key account management the DB Group’s business unit for combined transport wants to act even more customer and market oriented against the background of the current market situation. So far the services were oriented according to the geographical transport routes.

As of now our customers will have their own spokesperson. This is a crucial manoeuvre to be able to respond more quickly than so far to the individual requirements of our business partners, offer them solutions from one source and hence act even more efficient as a service provider in the market“, says Hans-Georg Werner, Head of DB Intermodal.

The management of the sales organisation lies in the hands of Andreas Schulz since 1 October. Mr. Schulz (41) had been holding several leading functions at DB Schenker Rail in the last few years. At last he had been in charge of the Management of the central axis. The distribution unit had been managed by DB Intermodal Head Hans-Georg Werner in personal union since October 2008.
