trans-o-flex ThermoMed creates unique selling position

System-covering temperature control with trans-o-flex ThermoMed

trans-o-flex ThermoMed, specialising in the transportation of temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical products, has introduced two more innovations that will set the standard with respect to quality and customer service. The special service provider in the area of temperature-controlled pharmaceutical transportations has installed an automatic centralised temperature monitoring system in all vehicles and warehouses, thus having created a unique selling proposition, according to its own account. "This innovation offers our customers the best service and safety possible", says Carsten Glos, Managing Director of ThermoMed, explaining the decision to introduce the new technology.

In intervals of five minutes, temperature and position of every single vehicle are transmitted via satellite to the ThermoMed hub in Kassel. Thus it spontaneous pick-ups or special orders can be planned and scheduled more efficiently. At the same time expediters are permanently informed whether temperature in the vehicles‘ cargo bays or the warehouses meets the requirements. If temperature differs from the specified range the system shows where an expediter has to intervene. To increase the meaningfulness vis-à-vis the customers, the acquired sets of data have also been integrated as a new feature in the company’s website.

trans-o-flex ThermoMed GmbH & Co. KG, headquartered in Weinheim, is the quality and market leader in Germany for temperature-sensitive shipments for the pharmaceutical industry between 2° and 8°C. The company’s German network consists of a sorting centre and 39 depots. Considering the degree of specialisation, ThermoMed uses its own vehicle fleet. Staff counts around 500 persons. Apart from Germany Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands will be served.
