Hapag-Lloyd gets urgently needed cash injection

Associates take over CTA shares from Hapag-Lloyd
 

Severely affected by the global economic crisis, the German container shipping line Hapag-Lloyd receives urgently needed liquidity. At the beginning of this week the associates have reached an agreement upon a quick financial injection at the amount of EUR 330 million. Hapag-Lloyd in turn conveys its 25.1%-share in the Containerterminal Altenwerder (CTA) in Hamburg.

Hapag-Lloyd is the world’s sixth largest container shipping company. According to financial circles the enterprise needs further financial support at the amount of EUR 1.75 billion.
