TNWA and Grand Alliance will cooperate on Asia-Mediterranean routes

By establishing a cooperation and combining liner services the shipping line alliance TNWA (The New World Alliance) – formed by APL, HMM Hyundai Merchant Marine and Mitsui OSK Lines – streamlines the service range in the traffic from eastern Asia to Europe. The “Asia-West Mediterranean-Service” will be based on a cooperation of the Grand Alliance shipping lines Hapag-Lloyd, MISC Behard, NYK Line and OOCL. Deploying 8 vessels, each offering a capacity of 6,000 TEU, the service serves in a weekly rhythm the following port rotation: Pusan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Chiwan, Shekou, Hong Kong, Singapore, Port Kelang, Jeddah, Damietta, Genua, Fos, Barcelona, Valencia, Damietta, Singapore, Hong Kong, Pusan.

In the traffic from China to northern Europe the members of TNWA integrated the CEX-service into the SCX-service. The new “SCX” starts in Ningbo and includes the ports of Shanghai, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Chiwan, Singapore, Colombo, Southampton, Zeebrugge, Hamburg and Rotterdam. On its journey from Europe to Asia it calls at Salalah, Singapore, Hong Kong and Ningbo.
